Our Mission
Inspiring students to learn to look at the markets daily, take capital markets education beyond the classroom, and interact with capital markets in the personal or professional context.
Between a wealth of events, workshops, and professional-grade educational and news content, the group enables students from any level of capital markets knowledge to become immersed in the topic, and find a community to call home.
Achievements
UBC Trading Group is one of the largest student clubs at the University of British Columbia, with over 500 annual members.
Each year, the group welcomes some of the worlds best and brightest capital markets professionals for member-exclusive keynotes.
In late 2018, the group established an analyst team responsible for producing market commentary, news, and educational content for members.
In recent years, the UBC Trading Group name has become well-known and respected by recruiters worldwide.
After having absorbed the UBC Quantitative Finance Club, the group has made a decisive shift toward providing increasingly more by way of practical skill development; launching hands-on workshops in Visual Basic, Python, and Data Science.
UBCTG Alumni have landed placements at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Evercore and more.
